After 80 years and 15,000 dogs, we've learned that structure, clarity, and consistency work, regardless of breed, age, or history. We pay close attention to the specific nature of each dog that is in front of us and apply our training method appropriately. We welcome dogs of all breeds and ages (regardless of being neutered or spayed) into our programs. To ensure the safety and success of every dog, all dogs must be up to date on required vaccinations (DHLPP, Bordetella, and Rabies). Because we provide highly personalized, structured training with limited enrollment, we may not be the right fit for owners seeking high-volume or group-play environments.

At Canine College, we welcome dogs of all ages and breeds into our programs starting at 6 months of age. Because our immersive training is highly individualized and tailored to the specific needs of each client, we are able to adapt our approach to suit your companion regardless of their stage in life.

All training at Canine College is conducted one-on-one with an expert trainer. We intentionally limit enrollment to provide personalized attention in a calm, structured environment, levelling up distractions such as roads, sidewalk traffic, and the activity of other dogs as the dog is ready. This individualized approach helps dogs train more effectively and achieve lasting behavioral results.

Yes. We believe long-term success will only come from training both the dog and the owner. Many owners are surprised to learn how their own actions and communication can influence their dog's behavior. All of our programs include one-on-one coaching sessions designed to help you understand your dog, reinforce training at home, and build a stronger, more balanced relationship together. We train the dogs, you raise them.

Our training is designed to create lasting behavioral transformation, not just temporary obedience. It is incumbent on the owner, however, to continue their exercises at home.

The length of training depends on your dog’s individual needs and goals, but most immersive programs range from 3 to 5 weeks. This enables us to earn the dog’s trust through structured, one-on-one training and provides the consistency needed to create lasting behavioral results rather than short-term obedience.

Before the program ends, you will participate in several one-on-one coaching sessions with our trainers to ensure you are fully equipped to maintain your dog’s progress at home. The goal is to transfer the respect and obedience established during training to you as the owner, giving you the tools and confidence needed to go home. 

In anticipation of your dog returning home, we provide guidance to you to help you reinforce structure and maintain consistency in your environment. We support this transition with simple, clear guidelines that allow your dog time to settle back in, re-establish routine, and adjust to the excitement of returning home.

Yes. All Canine College alumni dogs are eligible for refresher training if needed at any point after their program is completed.
