at Canine College
Set on a private estate in Redding, Connecticut, our facility offers a peaceful environment where each dog follows a consistent daily routine designed to promote rest and well-being. Rooted in our philosophy of maintaining an intentionally limited capacity, we prioritize structure and balance over the overstimulation of high-volume kennels. Our goal is to provide a calm, enriching experience.
Dogs are housed in private rooms with outdoor access, radiant heated floors in the winter, and full air conditioning in warmer months. Our light-filled facility, complete with skylights and soothing music, creates a comfortable atmosphere year-round. We accommodate dietary and medical needs, and uphold the highest standards of care with required vaccinations and staff certified in pet first aid through the American Red Cross.

BOARDING SERVICES
Included in our daily rates are premium foods, treats, bedding and toys. Additionally, every client is treated to routine wellness checks, medicine administration, eye & ear cleaning, nail trimming and brush-outs at no additional cost during their stay.
The care and safety of our clients is our number one priority. As such, we monitor guidance from the International Boarding & Pet Services Association, as well as require proof of the following vaccinations: DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Lepto, Parvovirus, & Parainfluenza), Bordetella, and Rabies.

A variety of spa services are available to boarding and training clients, including a massaging bath, blow-out, comb-out, mani/pedi, eye & ear cleaning, sanitary trimming for full-hair breeds, and relaxing strolls or playtime around the estate with our caring staff. Of course, no Spa visit would be complete without indulgent complimentary treats.

Everything you need to know about boarding before your dog's stay at Canine College.

We require proof of vaccination, including updated DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Lepto, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus), Rabies, and Bordetella vaccinations. A current town license is also required as per state regulations. Records may be provided upon arrival, emailed to caninecollegect@gmail.com, or faxed to 203.938.2124.

The relaxation and safety of each canine client is our top priority. As such, we do not allow the dogs to directly interact unless they live in the same household, or we have express permission from both owners. Canine College emphasizes personalized one-on-one care between our caring staff members and your dog.

We actively position ourselves against the volume-driven "group play" models common at other facilities to avoid the pitfalls of overstimulation. Instead, we prioritize balance, structure, and individualized care, creating a calm environment that reduces stress, promotes true relaxation, and avoids development of unwanted behaviors.

Yes, for an additional service fee you can bring your own food for us to prepare and serve. We can accommodate raw diets, with the exception of raw chicken. If you are bringing your own food, we recommend providing a few extra days worth, just in case.

You are welcome to bring your dog's personalized diet for a small daily fee, as well as a favorite bed or toy to help them feel at home during their stay. Otherwise, our all-inclusive daily rate includes premium food, treats, comfortable bedding, and toys, so there's no need to pack the essentials.
